Birthday Party Day!!

We had Genevieve's 2nd Birthday Party on Saturday at McCallum Park in Vestavia.  It was such a fun Elmo party!  The weather was perfect and Genevieve had a blast with all her buddies.

Last day of school

Last Friday was Genevieve's last day of school in the Duck room.  I can still vividly remember standing in that room and tearing up on the day I went to pay her deposit for the upcoming year.  I thought 'these women must think I am some kind of crazy lady, crying over Mother's Day Out'.  But to me, it was such a major milestone and I was scared to death to let her go 'school' and let people I didn't know take care of her.  That was last May...fast forward one year, and she is finished with her first year.  It has been great and she has loved every minute of it.  I am so thankful we sent her to school and am looking forward to her going again next year.
First day of school.....
....Last day of school.
this is her new 'say cheese' smile

Baby girl turns 2

May 14th was Genevieve's 2nd Birthday.  Kevin worked out his schedule so that he could be at home that day, which was perfect.  We wanted to take her to Dreamcakes in Edgewood, but were so disappointed to find a closed sign hanging on their door when we got there.  So, we took her to Savage's and let her pick out a cupcake from the dessert case.
Genevieve, of course, choose a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting.

We sang Happy Birthday and let her blow out her candles.

The lighting was HORRIBLE, wish these pics had turned out better!

I think she likes it :)

After the bakery, we took her to the park near our house and then Aunt Shawnie and Uncle Dan came over for dinner and yet another cupcake.  (Kevin actually told me that they shared a cupcake for breakfast that morning as well, bringing our cupcake total for the day up to 3! )

My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay BIG, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
And while your out there getting where your getting to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too.....This is my wish.

Happy Birthday, love you sweet girl ♥

Genevieve, nearly 2 years old

I took some pics of Genevieve in her Easter dress this weekend since I never got a good shot of her in it on Easter Sunday.  Her Minky made it especially for her and she looked like such a little southern belle in it.  These are some of my favorites!

Hawk's Cay

Kevin and I took our first real vacation without Genevieve a couple of weeks ago.  We went to Hawk's Cay in the Florida Keys with our good friends Scott and Dana.  They were celebrating their 10th anniversary and we were more than happy to go along and celebrate with them.  It was a great trip and much needed.

We drove around No Name Key one day hoping to see some of the Key deer.  We had no trouble spotting them.  They were everywhere and not one bit afraid of us.

Easter

The weekend before Easter we went to Vestavia Methodist (Genevieve's school) for breakfast with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt with friends.
The Easter Bunny was not our friend this year.  Quite a different reaction than she had last year....

...Jackson wasn't to fond of him either.

My girl loves her chocolate, she takes after her Mama in that department.

On Easter Sunday, we went to Mass and then had Minky, Papa, Memere, Pepere, Uncle Dan and Aunt 'Shawnie' over for lunch and an afternoon of watching the Master's.  However, we did take a break from the golf tournament long enough for an Easter egg hunt with Genevieve.

For at least a week after Easter, Genevieve kept saying "I wanna hunt eggs!"  She loved it!
