These are a few of my favorite things...

These are some of G's favorites right now.

Kevin brought Genevieve back these Russian stacking dolls from a trip to Estonia last December.  I actually learned, from a recent episode of Toot and Puddle :),  that their true name is Matrioshka.  Genevieve cannot get enough of them.  She will actually sit still while playing with them. Stacking and restacking them over and over again.  Great gift Daddy!
 We just got Genevieve this very sparkly pink purse.  I love how she so appropriately has it slung over the arm of her stroller.  She is really into any kind of purse or bag that she can carry her treasures around in.
He's a happy little truck, don't you think?  She scoots him all over the place, and has even started making truck sounds as she does it, which makes me laugh.  Vrooooommmm....

Fall weather is here!

I love the fall weather that has arrived in Birmingham!  It was so pleasant outside this afternoon.  I sat in the front yard and watched Genevieve play on her slide for quite a while.  She was having so much fun, I couldn't resist snapping a few shots of her as she played.

love this face...she is so funny!
This is classic Genevieve...such a silly girl.

All the Gammills!

Last weekend, we went to my brother in law's house in GA to get together with Kevin's aunt, uncle, cousin and his family.  Kevin has one cousin on his dad's side.  I had only met Brad and his wife, Christie, once and it was over six years ago!  This weekend Kevin's dad, aka Papa, organized a get together for both of the Gammill families and it was awesome!  We had so much fun!  There were 4 little girls, Alex (2.5), Genevieve(16mos), Lillie Catherine(2.5) and Whitney(11mos.),  and of course baby Harrison(6mos.) was the lone boy.  The girls had so much fun together and I just loved seeing them all play so sweetly.  We really enjoyed getting to hang out with Dick, Barbara, Brad and Christy too!

Thanks Papa for organizing such a great day!

Summer...in a nut shell. {part 2}

We spent the second week of July in Old Orchard Beach, ME with my side of the family.  It was the best vacation, so relaxing and lots of quality time with the fam.  My parents, both of my brothers, both of my sister in laws and my two nieces all stayed at the beach, but we got to see lots of extended family as well.  I wish I had gotten out the camera more than I did, but I was too busy enjoying the time with everyone.

Genevieve loved the beach and even got in the water.  This was the first time, out of all the summers I have spent in Maine, that I got in the water.  It was a little colder than the Gulf for sure, but was actually really refreshing.

My memere {the french canadian version of grandmother} got to meet Genevieve for the first time while we were there.

Last week Genevieve went to her first day of school.  I was really worried that she would get upset when we left her, but she did great.

When we went to pick her up, she was too busy playing to even stop and give us a hug.

Last weekend we went to Auburn for a short trip so that Genevieve could visit with her cousins, Lily and Ella.  We don't get to see them much because they live down in Melbourne, FL. so we jump at every chance to spend time with them.  The girls spent Sunday afternoon playing in the backyard with bubbles and splashing in a wading pool.

That was our summer...in a nut shell.  Now, we are looking forward to fall, cooler temperatures and most importantly, Auburn Football!

Summer....in a nut shell. {part one}

I can't believe it is Sept. 1 and I have not posted one single blog all summer!  I am def. slacking.  This summer, as most summers go, has been crazy for us.  Lots of things going on, and even a vacation or two thrown in. So....here are a bunch of pics from our summer.
We spent Memorial Day with some of our best friends, the Steiners.  We hung out in the front yard and let Genevieve and Caden play in the pool and sprinkler.  It was very laid back and a lot of fun.
Our sweet neighbor Sophie and big brother Owen came over to play in the water too.
In June, My best friend Bradley and her two, Janie Belle and Braxton, came up to B'ham for a visit.  We went to the Zoo one day and to the McWane Science Center another.

All the kids had so much fun at the McWane center.  I had never been there, but I was really impressed.  There was stuff for all ages.  And, they all took great naps afterwards!
