pics with Charlie

Our sweet pup, Charlie, has been under the weather lately.  It started when we were on vacation in Maine this summer.  The vet called to say he had terrible bladder stones and needed surgery.  Of course, we said "absolutely, do what you need to".  His surgery ended up being a little more complicated than expected but he came through fine and seemed to be feeling better when we picked him up.  The next week he had a bad case of colonitis and then once he got over that we had a couple good weeks.  Then about a week and a half ago he was diagnosed with diabetes and it has been a struggle to get it under control.  So, needless to say, he has been through the ringer lately.  As with many pets, Charlie is a big part of our family.  We love him so much.  His recent medical problems have gotten me feeling quite sentimental.
I had planned (and still do plan) on taking G's fall portraits with Charlie in a few of them, but as I watched them play outside the other day couldn't help but think maybe I should take this opportunity to snap a few of the 'besties' together now, while I have the chance.  Candids have always been my favorites anyways :)

Catching up {part two}

When you get behind on a blog, it is such a daunting task to have to catch it up.  So many times I have thought, ooh I need to put that on the blog.  But, because I am so far behind on it, I just skip it.  So, here is a very quick catch up to our lives....it is much overdue.

Disney!!

For Genevieve's 3rd Birthday we took her on a surprise trip to Disney World.  This is the package that was dropped off and Uncle Daniel and Aunt Shawn's on Sunday Morning...

We made it to Orlando!!

Port Orleans Riverside was beautiful and we even got one of the princess rooms!

First day in the park and she made a bee line for Cinderella's Castle.  Of course, tears followed when she discovered she couldn't actually go into the castle until later in the evening due to the daily show they do out front.

On our last day, G got a big surprise!  Memere and her cousins Lily and Ella and Uncle David and Aunt Michelle surprised her with a visit.  She was so excited to get to spend the day with them.  She truly adores her 'big cousins' and we were so happy to have family there to spend the day with too!

Disney was amazing and I CANNOT wait to back next year!!

For Genevieve's actual birthday we just had a few close friends over for a cookout and cake and ice cream.

Memere and Pepere sent her paints for her birthday and we spent the next day outside painting for hours.

I took her out for her 3 year old pics about a month ago, these are a few of my favorites...

We spent much of the summer on the road taking several trips to Auburn and the beach and a big trip to Rhode Island and Maine with Uncle David, Aunt Michelle, Lily, Ella and Memere and Pepere.  It was a great trip and G asked about her cousins nearly everyday for the first couple of weeks after we got back.

Catching up....

It has been months since I have posted anything on the blog, so here comes the a quick 'catch up' on whats been going on lately.  To make a long story short, we moved to the great state of Mississippi in February and have been getting settled into small town life for the past couple of months.  We are here temporarily and hope to be home around this time next year.  It has been pretty tough leaving home.  I miss it A LOT, but we are finally settling in and starting to meet people.  One of the big changes in our household has been that I am not working as a nurse while we are here.  It has been an adjustment, especially since we couldn't get Miss Priss into any kind of MDO until August.  So, me and the baby girl have been spending lots of quality time together :)  I must say, I love being home full time with her!  Here are some pics of our last couple of months....

At the end of January I took G out for a little 'Valentine's' session.  I fully intended to get a good pic that I could then turn into a Valentine's Day card for the family....that never happened because we ended up moving the first week in February, but I still love the way the pics turned out.  They are some of my all time favorites.

One of our favorite things to do here is to go fishing.  G loves it!  She is much braver than here Mama when it comes to the bait, no fear.  (the picture quality is horrible of these next couple, they were taken with our small video camera, boo)

Since we couldn't get into a MDO program, I decided to let G start dance.  This is her on her first day.  She was so excited!  She walked around the house for a week saying 'I can't wait to be a ballerina', so stink'in cute :)

 In April, G and Daddy went to Chick-fil-a for a Princess Daddy/Daughter date night.  This sweet princess was decked out!
