My little monkey

I know I have said it before, probably many times, but my girl is such a little monkey!!  She just loves to climb and play in the trees in our yard.  ***Don't worry, she is only about 2 feet off the ground in these :)

I am pretty proud of myself...I created my very first action while editing these!!  It definitely made the process much quicker :)

Jeggins and acorns

I had to share pics of my sweet girl and her first pair of blue jeans (they are actually not even denim but knit).  I am one of those mommy's that wants to keep my girl a baby forever, and will dress her in bubbles and bloomers for as long as possible.  But, when I saw these cute little 'jeggins' I had to give in :)

'Auburn Chic'

G goes to school right down the street from our house, so we usually walk both to and from school.  Every day, she meticulously picks up all the acorns she finds on the side of the road.  Then she either throws them over our neighbor's bridge into the creek or stores them in the side pocket of her backpack.

I have been practicing shooting in manual mode today.  It's something I learned to do at a beginners photography class I took last year, but since most of my pictures involve an active two year old, I usually end up shooting in AV mode.  It definitely takes some practice to shoot in manual....These are my two favorite from today.

When I was pregnant, I always said I hoped our baby would get Kevin's light green eyes, but now I wouldn't trade her big brown eyes for anything:)

a mother's love

I got to take pictures for one of my best friends this week.  She is amazingly strong and an incredible mother.  Sweet Cooper is such a fighter... Here is their story.  Please pray for healing for this precious baby boy and strength for his family during this difficult time.

Back to school time!!

Genevieve went back to school this week.  I am really excited about her class and her teachers this year.  Ms. Laura, Ms. Jamie and Ms. Amy all seem wonderful and excited to be in a room full of 2 year olds.

I made her sweet teachers these fun little cookie jars as a beginning of the year gift.

Summer has come and gone...

Once again Summer has come and gone and I find myself wondering where the time went. We spent a lot of time at the Birmingham Zoo this summer.  Genevieve absolutely loves the splash pad there and, as always, really enjoys the animals.  I guess she takes after her mother in that regard, seeing as how I have drug Kevin to the Zoo in every major city we have ever visited.  We also spent a few afternoons at the McWane Center, especially on days when the weather wasn't so nice.  There was a Dora the explorer exhibit there this summer that was perfect for her age.  It feels like we have been on the road quite a lot as well, visiting Auburn and Prattville and of course spending time at the beach.  All in all it has been a great summer, and in a lot of ways I am sad to send my little angel back to school.  But, all summers must end, and on the bright side Auburn kickoff is only a week and a half away!!
 I have not posted any pics since June.  So here are quite a few from the last couple of months....
