Finding a good spot to take outdoor pictures in January is definitely not easy, everything is brown and bare. These are some practice pics I got of Genevieve while I was looking for a place to take the pictures in the previous post. I just love that little smirk of G's face!

Sophie and her Christening gown

I took pictures of our sweet little neighbor Sophie in her Christening gown on Saturday. The weather was just perfect and so was Sophie!

I never took pictures of Genevieve in her Christening gown, so I took the opportunity to take a couple of her too!

Snowy Day

I know that I am super late at posting snow pictures. Most people had them up the day it snowed, but I am just a little behind. We took Genevieve for a very quick stroll down the street on the day it snowed. She was soooo bundled up, she reminded me of the little brother on 'A Christmas Story'. She loved being outside, as she always does.

Look who's standing!

For the past couple of weeks Genevieve has been pushing up to hands and knees, in the crawling position, and just recently has starting rocking while there. We figured she would start crawling in no time, but lately she is not so much interested in crawling......She wants to be up on her feet all the time! She has always wanted to be upright and actually has been bearing weight on her legs since about 3 months, but now she can stand holding on to something all by herself. Her balance still isn't there completely so we have to stick close by, but she is never-the-less 'oh so proud' of herself.

We finally got our tree up and now it feels like Christmas at our house... I love it!

Final Photog class

Well, this week was my final photography class...:( I feel like I have learned a lot, but also realize how much I still have to learn. It has been so much fun. I am looking forward to taking lots of pictures over the holidays and using what I have learned.

Photog class 2

These are my pics from Monday night's photography class. We were supposed to work on composition last week....don't know how well I did with that, but I do think I did a better job with exposure. This is definitely a learning process...I guess that's the point:)

I started with still life.....

..but somehow it's just not as interesting as my baby girl!

She is sitting all by herself these days!

This week our assignment is to take notice of different light sources and see how they affect our pictures. I'll post my pics next week...
